St. Panteleimon’s Prayer Group

How can you make a difference in the life of our Parish?

Please join St. Panteleimon’s Prayer Group:

-There are no meetings.

-There are no dues.

-There is no physical labor involved.

All you need to do, to be a member of this group, is to commit to the following:

  1. Pray every morning and every night for the people on the Church’s prayer list. (Remember: “The effective, fervent prayer of a righteous man avails much.” James 5:16b)
  2. Whenever you learn that a person is undergoing surgery: pray and fast (for at least 1 meal) the day of surgery and if anyone is in ICU (Intensive Care Unit) then pray and fast at least once per week until they are no longer in ICU. (Remember the words of our Lord: “However, this kind does not go out except by prayer and fasting.” Matthew 17:21)

Please call Olga Ptach (914-262-1061) to join so you can be placed on the email list to keep you updated with any changes.

Why name this group after St. Panteleimon? After the death of his father, Saint Panteleimon [275-305] dedicated his life to the suffering, the sick, the misfortunate and the needy. He treated without charge all those who turned to him, healing them in the Name of Jesus Christ. The name of the holy Great Martyr and Healer Panteleimon is invoked in the Sacrament of Anointing the Sick, at the Blessing of Water and in the Prayer for the Sick.

Holy Martyr and Healer Panteleimon pray to God of us!

Your Generosity Is Much Appreciated

"He who sows sparingly will also reap sparingly, and he who sows bountifully will also reap bountifully. So let each one give as he purposes in his heart, not grudgingly or of necessity; for God loves a cheerful giver." - 2 Corinthians 9:6-7
